Gordon Harrison Hull
was born September 5, 1977 in New York as the result of a pregnancy brought about by a fertility dress
made specifically for his mother by an Ashanti witch doctor in Ghana.
He was raised on an apple farm in Warwick, New York and lives and works in New York and Paris.
His work - inspired by the rituals, mysticism and craft of Africa - is based on a concept of aesthetic he calls "lo-fi magic"
and explores instances of natural magic, exercises of the supernatural, symbolism and ceremony. The role of the artist
as the Trickster figure in contemporary culture.
